Facebook Stories

Facebook Stories

Facebook are planning to use Snapchat’s main feature in their flagship app. The functionality that they are now going to be implementing into the Facebook app on Android and iOS under the name “Facebook Stories” and has also been added to WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook Messenger all owned by the Facebook company.

Similar to how Snapchat work’s, when you open the touch the camera icon within the Facebook app you will be able to send and share an image that will disappear within 24 hours. With the ability to customise your image with various filters, text, stickers and more. You can send your image to an individual or multiple people depending on your choice. Your friend’s stories are going to be right on the homepage of the application so you won’t be able to avoid them.

Facebook stories manager, Mr Connor Hayes has said:

“Starting this week on iOS and Android, you can tap on the camera icon on the top left corner of the Facebook app or swipe right from News Feed to try out the new in-app camera, over the coming months, we plan to introduce new ways for the Facebook community to create their own frames and effects that can be used on any photo or video created with the new Facebook camera.”

What Do You Think?

What’s your opinion on this? Do you think Facebook need to focus their efforts elsewhere? Or are you glad that the company’s flagship application has now introduced this feature?
