TMD Motorhomes are an NCC-approved dealership and workshop in Wythall, specialising in the sale and maintenance of key brands such as Adria, Burstner, Elddis and Platinum Wave.
The challenge was to build a cutting-edge bespoke website that not only showcased their impressive range of new and used campervans and motorhomes for sale but also seamlessly integrate with the renowned AutoTrader UK platform for stock management and advertising. Understanding the Vision
From the outset, our team at Gambit Nash worked closely with TMD to grasp their vision and objectives for the new website. TMD’s commitment to delivering a seamless user experience and staying ahead in the competitive automotive industry was clear, however their previous provider had several limitations which they were looking to overcome.
The primary goal was to develop a platform that not only featured their extensive inventory of vehicles but also simplified the listing process and synchronised effortlessly with AutoTrader for wider exposure, whilst allowing the TMD team better control over website content for marketing and SEO purposes. Bespoke Design & Development
With a clear understanding of TMD’s requirements, our talented team of designers and developers got to work. We focused on crafting an entirely custom website that reflected TMD’s brand identity and values. The design emphasised user-friendliness, high-quality visuals, and intuitive navigation to ensure visitors could easily explore the inventory with emphasis on the TMD brand’s three key colours – Pink, Blue, and Green – which were used to illustrate the area of the site being viewed. Used vehicles in Green (think Recycled, Reused), “New is Blue”, and Pink to mark sold vehicles.
Once the design was approved by the client, Behind the scenes our development team worked tirelessly to create a robust and dynamic website structure on top of the incredibly popular WordPress platform. Our platform allowed TMD to manage their inventory seamlessly, with real-time updates on vehicle availability and relevant details, ensuring potential buyers received accurate information.
Seamless Integration with AutoTrader
The true challenge of this project lay in integrating TMD’s bespoke website with the AutoTrader platform. TMD’s previous site already had this ability but was limited in other ways, but retaining this functionality was key to the project’s success. We built a bespoke plugin for WooCommerce that allowed TMD to sync their website inventory directly with AutoTrader via their APIs.
As part of this process Gambit Nash became an AutoTrader Connect Partner, allowing us to offer AutoTrader integrations for any number of future projects.
As soon as a vehicle was listed on TMD’s website, it automatically appeared on AutoTrader’s marketplace, maximising the reach of their listings and attracting a broader audience.
With additional integrations between the website, AutoTrader and Ebay Motors Pro, the site has the ability to not only publish to AutoTrader, but to publish to Ebay Motors and Gumtree Motors too, which are ideal avenues for selling used motorhome and campervan stock.
